Niccolo Vicienzi is an assistant navigator and able bodied seaman. Born and raised in Naples, Italy, he is 22 years old. At ages 14 -16 he was sent to a Benedictine Monastery for training as cleric. He gained 2 years of that experience before he ran away. He hated the boring monastic life. As a youth, he always wanted to sail the seas, watching the many ships sail . He is possessed by a great Wanderlust. He has no one special in familial relations, being the 5th son of low level noble Arcturus Vicienzi. Due to his experience with the Benedictines and his intelligence, he can read, write, do arithmetic, knows some Astronomy and Geography. Being a seaman at many ports and having a good ear he learned many Languages: Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, English, Dutch, German, Latin, and Arabic. He has become a dedicated Seaman that wants to sail and see the world and hopefully make some good coin. He wants to see as much of the world as possible. And he has developed a desire to be a great Navigator. Currently he is an abled bodied Seaman, assistant to the navigator on a ship called the Wave Dancer and helps keep logs and do accounting for the ship.

During this period of time Naples is a very active Port town in Italy.

He sailed with several captains. Sailing mostly in the Mediterranean Sea, in the North Sea and the Atlantic coasts of Europe. For the last 2 years he has sailed with Captain Armenio Javier. He had a good relationship with Captain Javier and Pilot/Navigator Argus Mason. Captain Javier has recommended him to go to meet Captain Quinn of the Silver Star as Assistant Navigator. Niccolo met Dimitri Rega (a Grecian Turk from the Greek Quarter of Const.) at the port of Constantinople on a merchant vessel the Wave Dancer for O’Ryder Shipping under Captain MacMurphee for 6 months. Dimitri is the assistant quartermaster for the ship. The ship was built by Van der Bajl Shipwrights out of Amsterdam.

Both Jansen Van der Bajl, a big Dutchman shipwright who have left Amsterdam after the death of his wife and son by illness, and Dr. William Patrick O’Ryder is an Irish physician have joined us on the Silver Star at the port of Bristol.
